Waiting to Login”/Unable to Sync” issues:

Staying logged in.

If you are having trouble staying logged in there are a few things you can try, but first let me go over how ScribeCount works in that regard.

Our privacy and security measures ensure that SC only runs when you wish it to. Nothing runs in the background. SC isn’t pulling data after you log out or shut off your computer. If you log out of a platform it also severs the connection to ScribeCount. So if you find yourself having to log into your platforms every time you go to use SC, this is why. This is a security feature. Unlike other reporting services, we don’t store your passwords or a cookie which would allow us to skip over you giving ScribeCount permission to see your data.

To counter this you can simply stay logged in. The tab to each platform can be closed once you have successfully linked, there’s no need to keep them all open in your toolbar. If a platform has a “Keep me logged in” button be sure to click it.

Some platforms may still log you out due to inactivity.

Linking Issues:

Be sure you are using the browser extension that you installed when signing up for ScribeCount. If you installed Chrome for example and then try using ScribeCount via FireFox it will not function.

For Google, make sure you are linking to the account that is connected to your Google Play account. If you are like me you have several Google Accounts and if you connect to the wrong one there will be no books to find and the software will simply keep looking for them…forever. If you have already tried to link to the wrong Google account you will need to disable the Google platform from SC and reconnect back with the correct account, otherwise ScribeCount will keep trying to link to the original wrong account.

Some platforms may have 2-Factor authentication. If so it may take a few tries before you can successfully link. Attempting this during low volume times may help.

Somewhat related: If you wish to edit your profile you must first log in via your ScribeCount Username and Password, if you attempt to login and do so via a media link such as Google or Amazon, you will be unable to edit your profile. Only your normal ScribeCount login allows this.

If none of these solutions help please send us a ticket and we will contact you via Zoom and help get you linked up and stay that way.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone has been great about helping us make this work. It’s much appreciated.
